Brugge, Belgium - August 20, 2006

Known as Brugge in Dutch and Bruges in French, I've gone with the former given this historic city's location in the heart of the Flemish Region of Belgium in the province of West Flanders (Belgium is divided approximately in half with Flanders or the Flemish Region embodying the majority of Dutch/Flemish speakers and the Walloon Region or Wallonia consisting of the French-speakers).

Today Brugge / Bruges is a UN World Heritage Site and the pictures below will telll you why. The city is so picturesque that I'll be breaking it down into two blog posts to save on bandwidth. You will recognize Henri in some of the shots. He borrowed his parents car to make the short drive into Belgium to visit the city. Thanks again Henri!
